Materializing New Year's Resolutions

💫 My 2023 New Year's resolution was to take on projects which engaged people that were professional, collaborative, respectful, and positive.

➡️ Come February and March, and I got to bring on the delightful Pamela Gulijczuk and Laura Santa Cruz to a long (and quite fun) translation project. Also, I worked on the subtitles of a film produced by the genius and all-round badass Paula Martel.

🙌 Fresh after that, I got THE call from the Instituto Multimedia DerHumALC - IMD to join the 20th edition of the International Human Rights Film Festival staff as the translation, interpretation and subtitles manager. It was a real dream come true. Not only did I find amazing collaborators and team members, I also made new friends ❤️. And I'm happy to say that I'll be joining them again next year for the 8th edition of the International Environmental Film Festival 🍃.

So, by June, I had more than achieved my goal. What now? I thought. But 2023 had more surprises in store: I gave my friends at the #luzdeldesierto Festival a hand and appreciated every minute of their great, motivating company. The icing on that cake was that I reconnected with people I met through the #latinarab Film Festival 🙌. And in the course of the following months, I continued to do so, and we are very excited for the 2024 edition of the festival, so stay tuned.

🤩 In October, I fulfilled my dream of working on the subtitles of a film by one of the most popular Argentine production companies, and none other than with my dear friends and top-notch linguists Eugenia Pérez Alzueta and Maxime Bonachera. I managed the project of translating the subtitles into French.

In November, among other things, I translated a screenplay for a producer that I had wanted to work with for a while —and he did not disappoint. 🤞 Fingers crossed, the project gets picked up and we can see the film on our big screens soon.

As 2023 came to an end, I found myself reflecting on the incredible opportunities that arose and how intentional I was about my work. If anything, this is your reminder to follow your heart and work will follow suit 💪.
